Raymond B. "Ray" Imdieke, age 92 of Greenwald, died peacefully on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Greenwald with Rev. Ken Thielman officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. St. Andrew's Catholic Aid, St. Michael's Men's Society and the Melrose Knights of Columbus will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Friday evening.
Raymond Imdieke was born February 2, 1915 in Grove Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Henry and Barbara (Van Beck) Imdieke. He married Marie "Mayme" Marthaler on June 5, 1940 in Meire Grove. The couple farmed near Greenwald until moving to town in 1976. Ray and Mayme were custodians at the bank in Greenwald for 22 years. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Greenwald, the Melrose Knights of Columbus, Council #1633, St. Michael's Men's Society, and St. Andrew's Catholic Aid. He was on the District 135 School Board, Greenwald Recreation Board, and the Greenwald Creamery Board. He was also a past member of the Greenwald Lions.
Survivors include his wife, Marie "Mayme" Imdieke of Greenwald; children, Gladys Meyer and her husband, Tony of Brooklyn Park, Carol Athmann and her husband, Gene of Spring Hill, Alice Loxtercamp and her husband, Ron of Melrose, Roger Imdieke and his wife, Deb of Greenwald, Henry Imdieke and his wife, Doris of Sauk Rapids, and Jeff Imdieke and his special friend, Jonelle Lodermeier of Melrose; 17 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren; brothers, Vincent Imdieke of Melrose and Tony Imdieke and his wife, Lorraine of Meire Grove; and sister-in-law, Pauline Imdieke of Melrose.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward Imdieke; infant twin brother and sister; and sister-in-law, Hilda Imdieke.
Serving as casket bearers will be Brian Meyer, Kevin Athmann, Dale Loxtercamp, Steve Loxtercamp, Chad Imdieke, Ryan Imdieke, Ben Imdieke, and Doug Imdieke. Serving as cross bearer will be Cody Imdieke and scripture bearer will be Nicole Imdieke. Honorary bearers will be St. Michael's Men's Society and St. Andrew's Catholic Aid Society. Gift bearers will be Mark Meyer and Kirk Athmann. Readers will be Holly Bakker and Kelly Duchene. Petitions will be read by Kallista Imdieke, Laurel Worms, and Lynn Rademacher.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
