Randall A. “Randy” Mikkelson, age 56 of Osakis, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 16, 2021, at his home in Osakis, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 24 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Becky Thomas officiating. A private burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Randall Alan Mikkelson was born August 6, 1965, in Alexandria, Minnesota to Marvin and Majel (Larson) Mikkelson. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Alexandria. On August 30, 1991, he married Brandi Baker in Alexandria. Brandi passed away in 2007. On July 12, 2014, he married Denise Dueker in Sauk Centre. In 1988, Randy started working at Scott’s Manufacturing, now known as Standard Iron in Sauk Centre and was proud of having a perfect attendance for 26 years.
Randy was a sociable person and enjoyed telling jokes to anyone who would listen. He also had a giving heart. He loved buying presents for people and adopted many families through The St. Nick Program which helps those in need at Christmas. Randy enjoyed helping anyone in need, but most of all, he enjoyed his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Mikkelson of Osakis; son, Ryan (Kristyna) Mikkelson of Elrosa and their children, Jared and McKinley Mikkelson; stepchildren, Anthony, Dominic, Eugene, Savanna, Vincent, and Julia Marthaler all of Sauk Centre; sister-in-law, Barb Mikkelson of Alexandria; brother-in-law, Gary Oberg of Alexandria; mother-in-law, Kathleen Dueker of Osakis; and many relatives on the Baker and Dueker sides of the family.
Randy was preceded in death by his first wife, Brandi Mikkelson; parents; brother, Michael Mikkelson; and sister, Laurie Oberg.
Serving as urn bearer will be his son, Ryan Mikkelson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
