Ralph A. Muellner, age 80 of Grey Eagle, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle with Rev. Ronald Dockendorf officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Grey Eagle.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11a.m. Thursday at the church in Grey Eagle. Parish prayers will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday evening at the church.
Ralph Anton Muellner was born April 28, 1936 in Grey Eagle, Minnesota to Adolph and Frances (Denne) Muellner. He graduated from Grey Eagle High School and studied business at the Humboldt Institute in Minneapolis. Ralph served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Picconatto on June 2, 1962 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Ralph worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad where he retired as the Vice President of International Marketing and Sales. Working for the railroad led Ralph and his family to live in cities across the country and offered Ralph many experiences internationally.
He was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle where he served as trustee and acted as Father Dockendorf's right hand man. Ralph was passionate about his family, faith, and truly enjoyed farming.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Muellner of Grey Eagle; children, Jill Muellner of Plymouth, Anthony "Jack" (Rosemary) Muellner of Seabrook, Texas, Janet (Rod) Dusek of Sauk Rapids, and Ralph "Russ" (Patricia) Muellner of Seabrook, Texas ; four grandchildren, Alexandria "Ali", Katie, Isabela, and Andrew; brothers and sisters, Georgianna Haller, Jeanette (Tom) Blaeser, Eileen (Rich) Wallin, Harold "Harry" (Joan) Muellner, Betty (Tom) Iberg, Bernadette West, and Thom (Paula) Muellner; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret Bruggenthies; brothers, Melvin and Tim Muellner; and an infant sister, Carolyn Muellner.
Serving as casket bearers will be Joe Bruggenthies, Al Bruggenthies, Tom Berscheit, Tom Blaeser, Rich Wallin, and Tom Iberg. Serving as cross bearer will be Ali Muellner and scripture bearer will be Katie Dusek.
Ralph's family would like to thank the staff at the Melrose Hospital and St. Cloud Hospital for the excellent care that Ralph received.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
