Phyllis A. Patyk, age 76 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, June 23, 2007 at her home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider and Rev. James Statz will concelebrate with interment following in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 8 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 5:15 p.m. followed by Christian Mothers at 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Phyllis Patyk was born September 7, 1930 in Flensburg, Minnesota to Valentine and Anna (Grebinoski) Jendro. She was a graduate of St. Francis High School in Little Falls. During World War II she worked in Washington, D.C. supporting the war effort, and then worked in banks in the Twin Cities area. On September 17, 1960 she married Stanley Patyk at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg. The couple moved to Sauk Centre in October of 1960 where they made their home. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.Phyllis embraced homemaking and took great pride in running her household. In addition to raising her family, she provided day care in her home for many children. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, sewing, flower gardening, bird watching and baking.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley Patyk of Sauk Centre; five children, Brenda Patyk of Charlotte, North Carolina, Amy (Douglas) Azinger of Prior Lake, Guy (Gu Zheng) Patyk of Wuxi, China, Chris Ann (Jeffrey) Schneider of Commack, New York, and Jennifer Patyk of St. Paul; four grandchildren, Therese and Lucy Azinger, Brandon and Stephanie Schneider; brothers and sisters, Edwin Jendro of Minneapolis, Robert (Cherie) Jendro of Rogers, James Jendro of Brainerd, Florence Shabel of Chicago, Illinois, and Lorraine (Richard) Ryan of Robbinsdale.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Marie Annette Patyk; brothers, Alfred, Gerald and Dominic Jendro; and her beloved dachshund, Wiley.
Serving as casket bearers will be Brenda Patyk, Amy Azinger, Guy Patyk, Chris Ann Schneider, Jennifer Patyk, and Debbie Mollison.
