Peter Nohner was born April 2, 1937 in Manannah, MN to Leo and Elizabeth (Mies) Nohner. He married Marion Theis on October 24, 1959 in Eden Valley. Pete, a natural mechanic and carpenter, could figure out how to fix anything. His passion was antique tractor collecting and restoration. He was a strong willed man, with a twinkle in his eye, and a project in the works. Pete's strong work ethic was apparent in all he did, including his service in the United States Army, and employment in the construction trades in the Minneapolis area at Stark Drywall, Mark Z. Jones and C. G. Ryan Companies. After moving to Grey Eagle in 1973 he founded PLNCO Construction INC. and Excavating, and P. L. Nohner Realty. He was a 50 + year member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union number 851.
He was a member of the Grey Eagle Lions Club, Albany Pioneer Club, the Catholic Aid Association of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and the Grey Eagle American Legion Post #547. Peter Nohner died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 in McAllen, Texas at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 10 days. Pete will be dearly missed by his family, his loved ones and the many lives he touched in his life and work.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Marion (Theis) Nohner of Grey Eagle; children, Brenda (LeRoy) Frie of Rogers, Paula (Thomas) Muellner of Grey Eagle and Keith Nohner of Grey Eagle; grandchildren, Derek, Bryant, Alexander, and Maria Frie, Trey and Ruby Muellner; siblings, Donald Nohner, Mary Ann Willner, Gerry Goffin, Ivan (Jean) Nohner; and sister-in-law, Bernice Nohner.
He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Nohner; parents, Leo and Elizabeth (Mies) Nohner; brother, Fabian Nohner; sister-in-law, Kathleen Nohner; brother-in-law, Fran Goffin; and brother-in-law, Lee Willner.
