Peter Jennissen

Peter D. "Pete" Jennissen, age 66, of Sauk Centre, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 14, 2013 surrounded by his family at the CentraCare Health Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating. Inurnment will take place in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church in Sauk Centre.

Peter DuWayne Jennissen was born July 17, 1946 in Melrose, Minnesota to Peter and Doris (Schramel) Jennissen. He married Marlene Lange on February 19, 1966 at the St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Francis. They had a dairy farm from 1966 to 1988 and then Pete started his own Shavings Business; hauling wood shavings from his farm to area turkey farms until 2003. After selling the farm in 2003, Pete started a golf cart business selling and servicing golf carts. He enjoyed ice fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and playing cards over coffee with friends at McDonalds.

He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and American Legion Post 67.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Jennissen of Sauk Centre; children, Karen Jennissen of Sauk Centre, Donna Roth of Isanti, and Brenda (Brad) Hinrichs of Long Prairie; grandchildren, Ashley Tomsche, Samantha Roth, and Zachary Roth; great-grandchild, Hayleigh Primus; brothers and sisters; Vie Wiebolt of Brainerd, Elaine (Don) Koester of Arizona, LuVern Bokinskie of Long Prairie, Clifford (Janet) Jennissen of Sauk Centre, Dorothy (Joe) Duevel of Elrosa, and Ray (Denise) Jennissen of Sauk Centre.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Francis "Fran" Jennissen.

Serving as urn bearers will be his grandchildren, Ashley Tomsche, Samantha Roth, and Zachary Roth. Honorary bearer will be his great-grandchild, Hayleigh Primus.
