Pauline R. Schmiesing, age 81 of Sauk Centre, died Monday, February 11, 2008 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 14 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 8 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 5:15 p.m. followed by Christian Mothers at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pauline Schmiesing was born February 23, 1926 in Freeport, Minnesota to Joseph and Katherine (Bueckers) Toenies. On June 6, 1955 she married Ervin Schmiesing at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. The couple farmed in Sauk Centre Township, Stearns County until retiring in 1988. Since November of 2003 she had resided at St. Michael's Nursing Home.Pauline was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed embroidery, gardening, playing BINGO, reading and playing cards.

Survivors include her husband, Ervin Schmiesing of Sauk Centre; five children, Michael "Mike" Schmiesing of Sauk Centre, William "Bill" Schmiesing of Sauk Centre, Sharon (Jerry Hagemeier) Schmiesing of St. Cloud, Paul (Linda) Schmiesing of Sauk Centre, and David Schmiesing of St. Cloud; six grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Celine (Claude) Zabinski of Hibbing, Bernadette (Robert) Fairchild of Post Falls, Idaho, Sr. Collette Toenies, OSF of Mexico, Jerome (Rita) Toenies of Sauk Centre, Donald (Virginia) Toenies of Sauk Centre, JoAnn (Bernard) Deters of Sauk Centre, Ralph (Sharon) Toenies of Mora, Harvey (Betty) Toenies of Mora, Jean Toenies of Sauk Centre, and David (Shirley) Toenies of Aitkin; sister-in-law, Rita Toenies of Little Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Joseph; brother, Alphonse Toenies and infant brother, John Toenies.

Serving as casket bearers will be Greg Deters, Jeff Deters, Jim Toenies, Ken Toenies, Ralph Mitchell, and Alfred Mitchell. Cross bearer will be Christopher Schmiesing and scripture bearer will be Derek Hagemeier.
