Pauline Rueckert

Pauline A. Rueckert, 93 of Sauk Centre died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Marty Porter will officiate with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Pauline Rosenow was born in Round Prairie Township, Todd County, Minnesota to Herman and Hulda (Janette) Rosenow. She married August "Gus" Rueckert on October 18, 1941 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie, Minnesota. They farmed in West Union Township, Todd County until moving to Sauk Centre in 1977. She enjoyed both her social life and homemaking, including cooking, playing cards and being with her friends and family. Pauline was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and before moving to St. Michael's Nursing Home she was active with the Sauk Centre Seniors.

Survivors include her three children, Sharon (Michael) Breer of Lexington, MN, Ronald (Jean) Rueckert of Richfield, MN and Gary (Bonnie) Rueckert of Ramsey, MN; eight grandchildren, Jill (Benjamin) Rueckert-Lopez, Scott (Amy) Ely, Jr., Tricia (Dave) Olson, Todd Breer, Wade Breer, Lena (Andrew) Shum, Amy (Jeremy) Engeberg and Ryan Rueckert; and 12 great grandchildren, Brandon Breer, Maryann Williams, Joe Williams, Hannah Shum, Karin Shum, Jenna Shum, Isabella Lopez, Maxwell Lopez, Asher Engeberg, Alex Ely, Emily Olson, Jake Olson and another great-grandson expected on June 16; and sister, Gladys Downing of Duluth.

She was preceded in death by her husband August "Gus" Rueckert on December 23, 2000; parents; sisters, Ernestine Kind and Irene Imme; and brother, Harold Rosenow.

Casket bearers will be Ryan Rueckert, Jill Rueckert-Lopez, Scott Ely Jr., Tricia Olson, Wade Breer, and Mike Hoeschen. Honorary bearers will be Amy Engeberg, Todd Breer, Lena Shum, the staff and all of Pauline's friends at St. Michael's Nursing Home along with her friends from Zion Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre.
