Paul S. Petermeier, age 60 of Big Lake, formerly of Greenwald and Melrose, passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at his home in Big Lake, Minnesota.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Greenwald with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. A family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Paul Steven Petermeier was born February 17, 1959 in Melrose, Minnesota to Elmer and Dolores (Schmidt) Petermeier. Paul graduated from Melrose High School and St. Cloud Technical College. He was united in marriage to Constance “Connie” Kraemer on June 18, 1988 at Saint Andrew’s Catholic Church in Greenwald. Paul was the owner/operator of Paul’s Auto Body in Melrose and also worked for a short time at Kraft Foods. He became employed as an insurance adjuster which Paul loved doing. He loved the drives to his territories and would even take an eleven-hour detour to see his son in Paul’s favorite state of Colorado.
He was a member of Mary of Visitation Catholic Church in Big Lake. Paul enjoyed driving, hunting, and spending time with his family. He loved watching all sports, especially his favorite team – the Green Bay Packers. Paul had a knack for memorizing dates, whether it be historical events, family memories, or other irrelevant events.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Petermeier of Big Lake; children, Preston (Lindsay) Petermeier of Bartow, Florida and Emma Petermeier of St. Louis Park; brother, Jerry (Josie) Petermeier of St. Louis Park; and sisters, Bonnie (Ron) Boeckermann of Arden Hills and Jolane Schmidt of Shoreview.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Kenneth Petermeier.
