Patrick Alan Bisel was born on September 26, 1945 to Fred and Rosemary Bisel in Takoma Park, Maryland. Pat spent his youth in Wheaton, Maryland. He was active in sports and graduated from Wheaton High School in 1963.Following this time he was united in marriage to Barbara Meeks and two children were born to this union, Patrick Jr. and Sherry. Pat had several jobs in Washington D.C. area, especially in the supermarket business. In 1967, Pat decided to serve his country in the United States Army, spending most of that time in Vietnam as a Military Policeman in Saigon. He served in that theater until 1972 when he went into the Army Reserves.Pat then came home and moved to Pillsbury, Minnesota, where he remodeled and operated the Pillsbury store with his children, Pat and Sherry, and his new wife, Arlene Thieschafer. After a period of time, he joined the National Guard full time until his retirement and honorable discharge in 1997. He received several honors from his time in Vietnam, but was very humble and spoke very little of these honors. After retirement, Pat took pride in taking care of various cemeteries in the Burtrum and Grey Eagle area. His hobbies included collecting many newly minted and old coins. He truly loved his old model train collections, family, and friends. He also enjoyed working on his home in Burtrum. He was a member of the VFW and was in many honor guard functions. Pat was a very private person but always thought of the needs of others. We will sadly miss Pat, but his memory will always be with us.
