Norma E. Rueckert, age 85 of Sauk Centre, died Friday, March 9, 2007 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Steve Hayden and Vicar Marty Porter will officiate with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the service.
Norma Rueckert was born June 25, 1921 in Ashley Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Louis and Emma (Biebler) Quistorff. On May 11, 1943 she married Albert H. Rueckert at in Sauk Centre. The couple farmed near West Union until retiring in 1972, when they moved to Sauk Centre. Norma worked at the Sarepta Home for two years and the couple also worked as janitors for Zion Lutheran Church for a few years. She had resided at St. Michael's Nursing Home for the past two years.Norma was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a former member of the Ladie's Aid and Sauk Centre Seniors. She was a lifetime member of TOPS.Norma loved flower gardening and embroidery.
Survivors include three children, Eugene (Faith) Rueckert of Brooklyn, Michigan, Darlene Rueckert of Parkers Prairie, and Donna Triebenbach of Long Prairie; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Caroline Porttiin of Sauk Centre.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Rueckert on March 12, 1996; and son, James Rueckert.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jason Rueckert, Eric and Scott Pierce, Andy Triebenbach, Mark and Bruce Porttiin.
