Mildred Vener

Mildred C. "Millie" Vener, age 86 of Sauk Centre, died surrounded by family Friday, June 19, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 24 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Greg Paffel will officiate with interment following in St. Paul's Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 4:30 p.m. followed by Christian Mothers rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Mildred Clara Vener was born December 15, 1928 in St. Martin, Minnesota to Joseph and Margaret (Laubach) Kleinschmidt. On September 5, 1949 she married Richard W. Vener at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. The couple made their home in St. Paul where they raised their family. Upon retirement in 1986 they moved to Sauk Centre.

Millie enjoyed playing cards, BINGO, music, and board games. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.

Survivors include six daughters, Linda (Michael) Milton of Pequot Lakes, Judith (Joe Poplawski) Vener of Seattle, Washington, Karen (Dale) Russell of Cleburne, Texas, Janet (Rob) Vener Tranberg of Madison, Wisconsin, Kathy (Bob) McKeown of Bemidji, and Tracy Vener of South St. Paul; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Rev. Sylvester Kleinschmidt of Sauk Centre, Cecile Zehrer of Sauk Centre, Anna Mae Pfeninger of Villard, and Joe (Jeanette) Kleinschmidt of Sauk Centre; sister-in-law, Theresa "Trix" Kleinschmidt of Sauk Centre.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard "Dick" Vener on January 11, 1999; sisters, Betty Lou Kleinschmidt; brother, Orville "Ollie" Kleinschmidt; brothers-in-law, Conrad Zehrer and Robert Pfeninger.

Serving as casket bearers will be Corey Vener, Bob Zehrer, Wyn Huynh, Jamie, Ryan, and Ned Kleinschmidt and Patrick Pfeninger. Cross bearer will be Lauren Schmidt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for the burn care of Millie's great-grandson, William T. Vener.
