Mildred Lydia "Millie" Pierson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the age of 102 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota at CentraCare Health Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9 at 11 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Millie was born June 3, 1914 and was raised on the farm north of town. She attended a one-room school for her first eight grades and then attended Sauk Centre High School. She married her next door sweetheart Loren, and they traveled throughout central Minnesota as Loren worked for Standard Oil and Minar Ford. In 1957, they returned to Sauk Centre eventually living on the family farm. They moved to town in 1970 prior to Loren's retirement and untimely passing.
Millie was a long time member of the First United Church of Christ, the Red Hat Society, and Birthday Club.
She is survived by her sons, Larry (Shirley) and Peter (Suzanne); grandchildren, Brad (Diane) Pierson, Lori (Jerry) Lyng, and Kindra (Ron) Stutes; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; sister, Sue Neal; and many nieces and nephews.
Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Loren; parents, Edwin and Laura Bosshardt; and siblings, Helen Gartner, Irene Bosshardt, Edwin "Bud" Bosshardt, and Lowell Bosshardt.
Memorials are preferred to the First United Church of Christ.
