Michael "Mike" Schmiesing

Michael J. “Mike” Schmiesing, age 64 Waite Park, formerly of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the CentraCare Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Jeremy Theis officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Michael Joseph Schmiesing was born November 30, 1956 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Ervin and Pauline (Toenies) Schmiesing.   In his younger years, Mike enjoyed helping his mother with laundry and gardening, and helping his father with chores. He enjoyed listening to county music on the radio and eating ice cream at Dairy Queen, especially with the people he lived with.

Survivors include his brothers and sister, William "Bill" Schmiesing of Sauk Centre, Sharon (Jerry Hagemeier) Schmiesing of St. Cloud, Paul (Linda) Schmiesing of Sauk Centre, and David Schmiesing of Redwood Falls; niece, Nicole; nephews, Chris, Tim, Brody, Derek, and Nathan; and many other relatives and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother, John Schmiesing.
