Michael Broermann

Michael R. "Mike" Broermann, age 62 of Sauk Centre, formerly of Melrose, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 31 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Melrose, Minnesota.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the church.

Michael Raymond Broermann was born January 21, 1954 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Walter and Alice (Wiener) Broermann. He grew up on the farm with his 4 brothers and 3 sisters where he spent his summers in the field and chores came first. He attended and graduated from Melrose High School in 1972. After school Mike continued to live on the family farm and began working at Kraft; which he would continue for the next 35 years. In 2005 he moved to Sauk Centre. Mike was a good fisherman and hunter and spent much of his free time on the lake or in the woods. His other hobby was working on muscle cars, and his favorite was his 1970 Chevy Chevelle which he named "Evil Iron". He also enjoyed playing softball with the Melrose Implement, listening to Rock' n Roll music, and spending time with his family and friends. Mike will be remembered for his humility, warm smile, and kindness that he showed to others.

Survivors include his father, Walter (special friend, Alice Boeckermann) Broermann of Sauk Centre; brothers and sisters, Catherine (Michael) Strutz of Willmar, John (Donna) Broermann of Sauk Centre, Larry (Carol) Broermann of Columbia Heights, Theresa (Donald) Meyer of Melrose, Edward Broermann, Lynn (Lee) Ortloff of Lester Prairie, and Art (Kori) Broermann of Melrose; 14 nieces and nephews; 16 great-nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Alice.
