Mary Jane C. Kane, age 87 of Sauk Centre, was welcomed into her eternal life by her husband, Jim and son, Tom on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2019 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Tim Wenzel officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre.
Mary Jane Clara Kraemer was born June 4, 1931 in West Union, Minnesota to John and Frances (Deters) Kraemer. She was united in marriage to James "Jim" Kane on September 29, 1953 at St. Alexius Catholic Church in West Union. Mary Jane volunteered at Holy Family School for 25 years. Her faith was very important in her life, and her legacy of faith and family has been passed down to her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and the Christian Mothers. Mary Jane enjoyed playing cards, embroidery, spending time with her family, cooking and baking, especially baking her homemade buns and apple pies.
Survivors include her children, Carol (Joe) Dockendorf of St. Cloud, Susie (Ken) Rutten of Osakis, Deb (Pat) Robischon of Sauk Centre, Janet (Dave) Kubinski of Sauk Centre, and Bonnie (Joel) Athmann of St. Cloud; daughter-in-law, Jan Kane of Sauk Centre; 14 grandchildren, Nathan, Cory, Jamie, Jordan, Meggie, Alex, Matt, Tony, Tara, Lindsay, Austin, Allison, Jared, and Kaylee; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Sand of Albany; and brother, Ray (Joanie) Kraemer of Osakis.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Kane on October 7, 2010; son, Tom Kane on March 21, 2011; brothers, Frank, John, and Jerome Kraemer; and sister, Vivian Marthaler.
Serving as casket bearers will be Nate Dockendorf, Cory Dockendorf, Matt Middendorf, Tony Middendorf, Alex Rutten, Jared Athmann, and Austin Robischon. Cross bearer will be Kaylee Athmann and scripture bearer will be Allison Athmann. Gift bearers will be Kate Smith, Parker Wessel, and Peyton Wessel and a eulogy will be read by Bonnie Athmann. Eucharistic Minister will be Deb Robischon and lector will be Carol Dockendorf.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Holy Family School and Quiet Oaks Hospice House.
