Mary Yarke

Mary B. Yarke, age 90 of Meire Grove died Saturday, September 11, 2004 at the Melrose Area Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15 at St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove with Rev. Ronald Dockendorf officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove from 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. St. Mary's Soceity will pray a rosary at 10 a.m.

Mary Yarke was born on July 6, 1914 in St. Rosa, Minnesota to John and Elizabeth (Bueckers) Barutt. She was united in marriage to Albert Yarke, Sr. on October 23, 1934 in Melrose. The couple farmed in Getty Township all their lives. Mary loved to play piano, cards and listen to the Meire Grove baseball scores as well as the KASM radio station. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove and St. Mary's Society.

Survivors include her children, Eugene Yarke, Roger Yarke and Richard Yarke all of Sauk Centre, Mary Ann Blenker and her husband, Allen of Albany, Irene Nathe and her husband, Jim of Greenwald, Joseph Yarke and his wife, Sarah of Sauk Centre, Lorraine Plantenberg and her husband, Joseph of Isanti, Albert Yarke, Jr. and his wife, Joyce of Sauk Centre, JoAnn Scharenbroich and her husband, Rick of Elk River, Jane Kraker and her husband, Jim of Grey Eagle and Marlene Gunderson and her husband, Steve of Vining; 26 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Joseph Barutt of Elizabeth, NJ, Herman Barutt and his wife, Joan of Graceville.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Barutt; husband, Albert Yarke, Sr. on May 5, 1990; son, Jerome Yarke in October of 1990; one infant son; grandsons, Ronald and Kevin Blenker; granddaughter, Trista Yarke; brothers and sister, Anthony, Henry, Alphonse, John Barutt, Jr., Aloysius Barutt, and Viola Skarzinski.

Serving as casket bearers will be Jeff Blenker, Keith Yarke, Chris Scharenbroich, Tom Nathe, Chad Scharenbroich, Darrin Yarke, Brian Yarke, and Dean Blenker. Serving as cross bearer will be Ashley Kraker and Jennifer Blenker will be scripture bearer. Serving as gift bearers will be Jenny Plantenberg, Jackie Plantenberg and Zhana Gunderson. Serving mass will be Tiffany Yarke and Ben Yarke. Lectors will be Lori Plantenberg and Kim Scharenbroich and Mike Nathe will read Petitions.
