Mary Schneider

Mary P. Schneider, age 59 of Hamilton, New Jersey, formerly of Melrose, died Saturday, December 24, 2011 at her home in Hamilton, New Jersey.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the mass at the church.

Mary Patricia Schneider was born February 21, 1952 in Melrose, Minnesota to Earl and Genevieve (Tembrock) Schneider. Mary lived at home with her parents until their death and worked at Dell's Cafe in Melrose. She moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and for the past 12 years had lived at Project Freedom, an assisted living complex in Hamilton, New Jersey. Mary's heart always belonged to her hometown of Melrose, and she enjoyed telling her friends and family stories of her time spent there. Mary was well known for her family recipe of gingerbread cookies, which she made for all of her relatives and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, namely poker and cribbage. While living in Melrose, she enjoyed her time at Earl's Bar. While in New Jersey, Mary enjoyed trips to the Atlantic City casinos with her friends at Project Freedom. She also volunteered doing clerical work at New Jersey Agencies, Project Freedom, and Advancing Opportunities.

Survivors include her brothers and sister, Stephen (Anne) Schneider of Durham, North Carolina, James Schneider of St. Paul, John Schneider of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ann Ausen of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Paul (Mary) Schneider of Perham; nephews, Chris Schneider, Tom Schneider, Matthew Ausen, Nick Schneider, and Joe Schneider; nieces, Diane Niwore and Renee Smith; three great-nieces; maternal uncle, Henry Tembrock of Elk River; and maternal aunt, Eva Donovan of Monticello.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Genevieve Schneider; maternal grandparents, Henry and Nora Tembrock; paternal grandparents, Frank and Ida Schneider; maternal aunts, Bernice Herold, Joan Bringe, and Adeline Trisko; and paternal uncle, Ray Snyder.
