Martha Timp

Martha M. Timp, age 81 of Freeport, died Tuesay, April 22, 2003 at the Melrose Area Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 25 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Rev. Roger Klassen, O.S.B. will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Christian Mothers and Golden Years Senior Citizens will pray at 4 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the church in Freeport.

Martha Timp was born in St. Rosa to Henry and Elizabeth (VonBokern) Beuning. She was united in marriage to Alphonse Timp on May 27, 1941 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. The couple farmed near the New Munich area. They moved to Freeport and retired in 1978. Martha enjoyed Bingo, cards, bowling, flowers and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport and the Christian Mothers.

Survivors include her husband, Al Timp of Freeport; children, Art Timp and his wife, Jean of Grey Eagle, Don Timp and his wife, Betty of Freeport, Jerry Timp and his wife, Judy of Freeport, Joan Lupachini and her husband, Peter of Gold Canyon, Arizona, Jim Timp and his wife, Mary of Melrose, Mary Flan and her husband, Dan of Paynesville, Janice Zierden and her husband, Mark of Melrose and Cheryl Jacobson and her husband, Kim of Cannon Falls; 23 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; twin brother, Jerry Beuning and his wife, Lillian of Freeport; sisters, Connie Hoeschen and her husband, Ben of Mahnomen, Aggie Schwinghammer and her husband, Ed of Freeport, Sally Viere and her husband, Arnold of Melrose and Rose Spanier and her husband, Roman of St. Joseph.

Martha was preceded in death by her infant twin sons, James and John Timp; grandson, Aric Zierden; brothers, Lawrence, William and Ambrose Beuning, and sister, Ann Kauffel.

Serving as casket bearers will be Paul Timp, Kenneth Timp, Jason Timp, Steve Chapman, Ryan Zierden and Adam Jacobson. Serving as cross bearer will be Lisa Simons and Amy Chapman will be scripture bearer. Michael Timp will be the lector. Gift bearers will be Sarah Vizcaino and Daron Zierden.Honorary bearers will be Lorene Pfau, Margie Beste, Janet Butkowski, Katherine Funk, Florence Funk, Glorine Raeker and Erin Tschida.
