Martha E. McIntyre, age 97 of Sauk Centre, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 at CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 12 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Marty Porter will officiate with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Martha Emma Heidemann was born April 2, 1918 in the Lyman Prairie area of Raymond Township, Stearns County, Minnesota. She attended school to the eighth grade. Martha married Floyd "Baldy" McIntyre on February 16, 1944 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie, Minnesota. They moved to a farm in Gutches Grove area, near Long Prairie, in 1947, where they made their home. Baldy and Martha enjoyed going snowmobiling with friends while they lived on the farm. After Baldy's retirement in 1980 they moved to Sauk Centre.
Martha was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sauk Centre Seniors, and a 43 year member of the Little Sauk American Legion Post 417 Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Irene "Susie" Wolf of Sauk Centre and Lucille Marx of St. Cloud; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd "Baldy" McIntyre; daughter, Carlyn Rae McIntyre; brothers, Alfred, Albert, and Walter Heidemann; sisters, Lena Heidemann, Ida Knaak Volkman, Tillie Kroscel, and Regina Kiken.
Serving as casket bearers will be Rodney McCartney, Ken Wagner, Doug Bundy, and Allen Bauer.
Honorary bearers will be members of the Little Sauk American Legion Post 417 Auxiliary.
