Marlene A. Henry, age 51 of Melrose, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at her home in Melrose, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 30 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Marlene Alverna Olmscheid was born September 25, 1957 in Melrose, Minnesota to Eugene and Ann (Walz) Olmscheid. She was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" Henry on March 27, 1976 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. She had a fun loving spirit and spread cheer to everyone, especially to the residents in Park View when she would visit her parents. She loved gardening and was very dedicated to her family, especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Marlene was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose.
Survivors include her husband, Dick Henry of Melrose; daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Garding of Freeport, and Gena (fiancé Robert Zollar) Henry of St. Cloud; three grandchildren, Riley, Jake and Cora; father, Eugene "Gene" Olmscheid of Melrose; brothers, Dale (Yvonne) Olmscheid of St. Augusta and Duane (Gail) Olmscheid of Melrose; and many loving relatives and friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her mother, Ann K. Olmscheid on March 12, 2005.
Serving as casket bearers will be Gene Henry, Barb Stang, Rick Olmscheid, Ron Dalton, Pam Neaton, and Duane Frieler Jr. Cross bearer will be Alverna McLanahan and scripture bearer will be Mary Kay Flanders.
