Mark K. Varner, age 48 of Sauk Centre, died unexpectedly on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with Rev. Kyle Peterson officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Bear Head Union Cemetery in Pillsbury, Minnesota.
Friends may gather one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mark Kenneth Varner was born August 23, 1965 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was raised by Frederick and Marjorie (Weaver) Varner. Mark was an over-the-road truck driver for many years; working for a few companies including St. Cloud Auto Transport. He also worked for Universal Construction Company in St. Cloud.
Mark enjoyed driving truck and giving Anita's father a ride in the semi. He also enjoyed spending time with his fiancé and family.
Survivors include his fiancé, Anita Baumgard of Sauk Centre; children, Christopher and Dakota, both at home; parents, Fred and Marge Varner of Alamo, Texas; brother, Bradley Varner of Fargo, North Dakota; sister, Tamara (Paul) Hamann of Wheaton; and Anita's mother, Joyce Doege of Sauk Centre.
Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents; and Anita's father, Virgil Doege.
