Marie E. Wielenberg, age 77, of Melrose died Saturday, December 10, 2005 at her home in Melrose Township, Stearns County, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser, Rev. Dale Ettel and Rev. Richard Walz concelebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. followed by Christian Mothers and Holy Family Catholic Aid of St. Rosa at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Marie Wielenberg was born on September 18, 1928 in Millwood Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to August and Theresa (Stoermann) Herdering. She was united in marriage to Joseph M. Wielenberg, Sr. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa.They farmed in Melrose Township. Marie loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and scrap booking, baking, painting, sewing, quilting, making homemade candy and maintaining the family history. Marie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and Holy Family Catholic Aid of St. Rosa.
Survivors include her children, Joseph Wielenberg, Jr. (Magdalen) of Burtrum, Kathleen Bauer of Melrose, Melvin Wielenberg (Jane) of Long Prairie, Dennis Wielenberg (Mary) of Upsala, Lawrence Wielenberg of Grey Eagle, Bernadette Holdvogt (Alvin) of New Munich, Vincent Wielenberg (Bernadette) of Grey Eagle, Mary Wielenberg of St. Cloud, Bonita Haugrud (Keith) of Pelican Rapids; brothers and sisters, Anna Hellerman (Elmer) of Melrose, Alvin Herdering (Carol), Ambrose Herdering (Bertha), Joe Herdering (Kathy), Alfred Herdering (Marlene) and sister-in-law, Doris Herdering all of St. Rosa; 24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Wielenberg, Sr.; son, Patrick Wielenberg; infant brother, Hubert Herdering, brother, Bernard Herdering and sister, Angeline Arnzen; and one infant grandson.
Casket bearers will be Ronnie Herdering, Kenny Wielenberg, Charlie Arnzen, Neil Wielenberg, Lori Wielenberg and Theresa Holdvogt. Cross bearer will be Melissa Johnson. Scripture bearer will be Diane Brickweg. Honorary bearers will be neighbors.
Memorials are preferred.
