Marie A. Schwieters, age 98 of Spring Hill, died peacefully on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spring Hill with Rev. Omar Guanchez officiating and Rev. Dick McGuire concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Christian Women Sodality, St. Mary's Mission Group and Catholic United Financial will pray at 6 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Marie Ann Neubauer was born November 28, 1914 in Lake Henry Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to John and Katherine (Schoenhoff) Neubauer. She was united in marriage to Conrad Schwieters on October 9, 1939 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spring Hill. Marie was a lifetime resident of Spring Hill. She and her husband owned and operated the General Store in Spring Hill for 18 years. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spring Hill, Christian Women Sodality, St. Mary's Mission Group and Catholic United Financial.
Marie enjoyed flowers, watching the garden grow, any angel figurine and playing 500 with the women of the 500 card club. She was a religious woman with strong faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorine (John) Schwagel of Spring Hill; and two grandchildren, Terry (Angela) Schwagel and Traci (Trevor) Studanski.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Conrad Schwieters on May 21, 1983; daughter, Alice Schwieters; sister, Hilda Neubauer; brothers, Math, Leo, Henry and Norbert Neubauer; and one infant brother.
Serving as casket bearers will be Melvin Goebel, David Ehlert, Stephen Schwagel, Jim Svihel, Harvey Neubauer, and Roman Neubauer. Cross bearer will be Traci Studanski and scripture bearer will be Tom Janson. Eucharistic Minister will be Marilyn Gruber and lector will be Tom Janson. Mass servers will be Mitchell Welle, Raeyln Welle, and Ben Welle.
