Marie McCoy

Marie McCoy, age 93, died on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at her home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 22 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in SAUK CENTRE with Fr. Arthur Hoppe officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday from 3:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in MELROSE. Christian Mothers and Fr. Hoppe will pray a rosary at 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Melrose.

Marie Elizabeth Sullivan was born January 28, 1910 at Marshall, Minnesota to Martin and Elizabeth (Hanlon) Sullivan. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1928. She married Ronald I. McCoy in 1932 at Marshall. They lived in Marshall and intermittently in Woonsocket, South Dakota, moving from Marshall back to Woonsocket with their family of seven children in 1944 when Ronald was drafted into the U.S. Army during WWII. In 1966 Marie and Ronald moved from Woonsocket to Sauk Centre, Minnesota where they were in business with their sons in the publication of the Dairyland Peach, and where they lived the remainder of their lives. Ronald died in 1990.Marie was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ellen Vearrier and her husband, Marvin of Sauk Centre; five sons, Thomas McCoy and his wife, Mary of Longmont, Colorado, James McCoy and his wife, Marlene, Dennis McCoy and his wife, Dorothy, and Joseph McCoy and his wife, Audrey all of Long Prairie, and Brian McCoy and his wife, Shirley of Sauk Centre; daughter-in-law, Regina McCoy of Browerville. Also surviving are 41 grandchildren, 97 great grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Kirk Patrick McCoy in 1980; 12 brothers and sisters; and a great-grandson, Jacob Vearrier on May 14, 2001.

Casket bearers will be Greg, Mike, Bill, Pat McCoy, Jim Vearrier and Chris Zack.
