Marie E. Kampsen, age 101 of New Munich, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa with Rev. Derek Wiechmann officiating. Interment will be held in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in New Munich.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa.
Marie Elizabeth Boeckermann was born March 23, 1922 in St. Rosa, Minnesota to Bernard and Amanda (Toenyan) Boeckermann. She was united in marriage to Henry J. Kampsen on June 24, 1940 at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa. The couple farmed in Oak Township, Stearns County for 58 years and continued living on the farm while they raised mink for 35 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich and the Christian Women. Marie enjoyed playing cards, quilting, and truly enjoyed living life to the fullest. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family and her friends.
Survivors her children, Virginia (Elmer) Meyer of Melrose, Marcella (Dennis) Mareck of Albany, Clarence (Renee) Kampsen of Freeport, and Jeanette (Melvin) Kalthoff of Spring Hill; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Roger (Irene) Boeckermann of Melrose; and sister, Monica Rieland of New Munich.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Kampsen on July 10, 2001; parents; grandson, Sherwood Meyer; sisters, Stella Ostendorf, Eleanore Wiechmann, infant Rose, Bernadette Hallermann, Caroline Ahrens, and Helen Hallermann; and brothers, Lawrence, Edmund, Wilfred, Anthony, and Francis Boeckermann.
