Marguerite M. Winter, age 96 of Melrose, died Monday, November 13, 2006 at Westminster Woods on Julington Creek in Jacksonville, Florida.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 20 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church in Melrose.
Marguerite Winter was born May 28, 1910 in Jacksonville, Florida to Andrew and Carrie (Haugen) Strommen. She married Ernest Winter on October 9, 1928. Marguerite lived in Melrose until 1943. She then moved to Ogden, Utah and worked in a defense factory until returning to Melrose in 1946.She is a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose and Daughters of Isabella Joan of Arc Circle.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Ellingson of Jacksonville, Florida; granddaughter, Joan Scott and her husband, Jeff of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Lois Martinson of Harbor Springs, Michigan; and sister-in-law, Vi Berns of Melrose.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Winter on June 29, 1980; and brothers, Arthur, Lester, and Gilman Strommen.Serving as honorary bearers will be Vi Berns, Nettie Goihl, Lois Strommen, and the Daughters of Isabella.
