Margaret A. Reiman, age 82 died unexpectedly Thursday, September 1, 2005 at her home in Melrose.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 3 at St. Mary's Cemetery.A memorial mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 6 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vincent Lieser officiating.
Friends may call Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose.
Margaret Reiman was born February 25, 1923 in Dodge, Nebraska to William and Anna (Kroenke) Vakiner. She graduated from Dodge High School in Dodge, Nebraska. She attended Wayne State Teacher's College in Nebraska and became a country school teacher in Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Leo Reiman on September 16, 1948 in Dodge, Nebraska. The couple moved to a farm near Melrose on January 9, 1957 where she was employed as a tutor and substitute teacher. The couple retired in 1990. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, Christian Mothers and the Centre Area Concert Association. Margaret enjoyed gardening, quilting, knitting, crocheting, reading, chickens and flowers. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grand children.
She is survived by her children, Myron Reiman and his wife, JoAnn of Melrose and Marcene Austing and her husband, Don of Melrose; six grandchildren, Angie Tschida and her husband, Joe, Chris and John Reiman, Jackie Austing and her fianc+, Kurt Goebel, Michael and Jennifer Austing; three great grandchildren, Derrick, Zachary and Courtney Tschida; brothers and sister, Lloyd, Delwyn and Iona Vakiner.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Vakiner; husband, Leo Reiman on September 18, 1994; and brother, Homer Vakiner.
Serving as casket bearers will be John Reiman, Michael Austing, Chris Reiman, Joe Tschida, Jackie Austing, Angie Tschida, Jennifer Austing and Kurt Goebel. Serving as cross bearer will be Marcene Austing and scripture bearer will be Myron Reiman. Honorary bearers will be Colette Von Wahlde, Pat Von Wahlde, Elvira Von Wahlde, Phyllis Blenker, Pat Petermeier, Marcella Hinnenkamp, LaVonne Zirbes, Bernie Pohlmann, Carol Pohlmann, Marie Wielenberg, Bernice Hellermann, Dorothy Middendorf and Bernice Kluempk-Primus.
