Margaret Rasmusen

Margaret A. Rasmusen, age 86 of Ward Springs, died Friday, January 4, 2008 at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 8 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with Rev. Steve Hilde officiating. Private inurnment will take place in the spring in the Long Bridge Lutheran Cemetery in Little Sauk Township.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Margaret Rasmusen was born March 31, 1921 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Henry and Elizabeth (Huhne) Van Havermaet. On August 10, 1955 she married Martin G. Rasmusen at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. The couple farmed in Birchdale Township, Todd County until 1970 when they moved to Ward Springs. Margaret was employed as a housekeeper and later at Jennie-O Foods in Melrose.She was a member of Little Sauk-Long Bridge Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three sisters, Mary Ann Kiffmeyer of Wells, Betty Schimmel and Frances "Red" (Roman) Terwey, all of Grey Eagle; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter; husband, Martin Rasmusen on December 10, 1988; sisters, Ann Bruggenthies and Loretta Van Havermaet; brothers, Norbert, John, Raymond, Louis, and Henry Van Havermaet.
