Margaret J. "Marge" Corrigan, age 96 of Sauk Centre, died Sunday, July 6, 2014 at CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
A private inurnment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Margaret Jane Burggren was born March 15, 1918 in Cannon Falls, Minnesota to Elmer and Ada (Erickson) Burggren. She was raised in the Cannon Falls community and graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1935. She attended Cannon Normal Training School and taught for one year near Cannon Falls. She then attended Mankato State College and after graduating she taught in Elkton and Meadowlands.
On January 2, 1942 she married Charles A. Corrigan in Superior, Wisconsin. They made their home in St. Cloud and in 1944 moved to Sauk Centre, where Mr. Corrigan owned and operated the Corrigan Funeral Home. After retirement, the couple continued to reside in Sauk Centre and spent the winter months in McAllen, Texas. Marge was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Helen McGrath of St. Paul, Patricia "Patty" (David) McIlwain of Century, Florida, and Margaret "Peggy" (Stanley) Lesniewski of Miami, Manitoba, Canada; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Corrigan on November 30, 2002; daughter, Judith Bray; and brother, Robert Burggren.
