Marcelline B. "Marcy" Rolfzen, age 95, of Melrose, died peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Pine Villa Care Center, Melrose.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church in Melrose.
Marcelline Barbara Bauer was born April 18, 1917 in Spring Hill Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Joseph and Mary (Muellner) Bauer. On June 28, 1951 she married Clemens "Whitey" Rolfzen at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Melrose. Marcelline was employed at the Litchfield Produce for 18 years, Swany White Bakery in Melrose for 9 years, and Jennie-O Foods in Melrose for 5 years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, Christian Mothers, Sts. Bernard and Elizabeth Council, and the Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 Auxiliary. Marcy enjoyed quilting, playing cards, gardening, canning all of her own food, and was as avid Twins fan.
Survivors include her sons, Keith Rolfzen and his wife, Toni Decker of Minneapolis and James Rolfzen and his wife, JoAnn Backes of Maple Grove; grandchildren, Joseph, Jasmine, Chelsea, Nicole, and Christina.
Marcy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clemens "Whitey" Rolfzen; brothers, Ervin Bauer, Wilfred Bauer, and Clarence Bauer; and sisters, Mildred Bauer, Mary Ann Zirbes, Delores Snyder, and Dorothy Schneider.
Casket bearers will be Joann Gerads, Corrine Dykstra, Judy Nordman, Gloria Vogel, Sharon Koxvold, and Lori Sand.
