Marcella T. "Sally" Winter, age 85 of Sauk Centre, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 27 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Eberhard Schefers and Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8-10:30 a.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 5:15 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home in Sauk Centre, followed by Christian Mothers at 7 p.m.
Sally Winter was born on July 16, 1922 in Upsala, Minnesota to Bernard and Isabelle (Pundsack) Ostendorf. She married Richard W. Winter on April 23, 1940 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. They farmed near Spring Hill on his home farm for five years. In 1946 they moved to a farm near Sauk Centre. They were feed and Pure Water Inc. drinking systems salespersons until they retired. They moved to Sauk Centre in October of 2000 and resided at Riverview Manor. Since May she had resided at St. Michael's Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and Christian Mothers.Sally loved to dance and enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Survivors include six children, Donna (Robert) Hoeschen of Freeport, Lawrence "Larry" B. (Rosie) Winter of Sauk Centre, Gerald "Jerry" (Marge) Winter of Foley, Richard "Dick" (Kathy) Winter, Jr. of St. Cloud, Judith "Judy" (Delbert) Doubrava of Sauk Centre and Dennis (Nancy) Winter of Sauk Centre; 26 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bernadine Weisser of Sartell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Winter on August 9, 2001; brothers, Clement, Edwin, and Ted Ostendorf; and two granddaughters, Shannon Winter and Sandy Hoeschen.Serving as casket bearers will be Brad, Brent, Jenna, and Jeremy Winter, Mike Doubrava, and Jason Hoeschen.
Cross bearer will be Roxanne Bienusa and scripture bearer will be Kelly Baynes. Honorary bearers will be members of the Christian Mothers and her caregivers.
