Marcella "Marcy" (Mareck) Seifermann, age 85 of Melrose died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at her home in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 16 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Christian Mothers and the Schanhaar-Otte VFW Auxiliary will pray at 5 p.m. followed by the American Legion Auxiliary at 6 p.m. and parish prayers at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Marcella Mary Och was born August 22, 1928 in Spring Hill Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to John and Rose (Wengler) Och. On October 5, 1948 she married Alphonse Mareck who died July 30, 1965. She married Celestine "Cel" Seifermann on July 20, 1979 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. Marcy worked at Stearns Electric in Melrose for 28 years, retiring in 1991.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, Christian Mothers, Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 101. Marcy enjoyed spending many winters in Arizona with Cel. During her time there, she played pool daily and tried her hand at being a silversmith. She also enjoyed golfing, bowling, cooking, gardening, dancing, and playing cards.
Survivors include her husband, Celestine "Cel" Seifermann of Melrose; children, Pat (Gary) Probst of Westminster, Colorado, James (Karen) Mareck of Austin, Texas, Bill Mareck of Superior, Wisconsin, Tom (Caroline) Mareck of Barrington, New Hampshire, and Judy (Dean) Mattson of Roseau; nine grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy (Dennis) Wagner of New Brighton, and Bernice Demuth of Hugo.
Marcy was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Alphonse Mareck; son, Steven Mareck; daughter-in-law, Madge Mareck; grandson, Joseph Mareck; and sister, Rosie Hennen.
Serving as casket bearers will be Bill Mareck, Tom Mareck, Jim Mareck, Ben Probst, Dean Mattson, and Erik Mattson. Cross bearer will be Alicia Mattson and scripture bearer will be Nicole Mareck. Honorary bearers will be her card and coffee group.
