Magdalene A. "Maggie" Javes, age 89 of Grey Eagle, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Memory Cottages in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 22 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle with Rev. Ronald Dockendorf officiating. Interment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Ward Springs.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Grey Eagle. The Christian Mothers will pray at 5 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Magdalene Ann Stachowski was born January 30, 1925 in Granite Ledge Township, Benton County, Minnesota to Edward and Martha (Novak) Stachowski. She married Harold E. Javes on February 15, 1947 in Hudson, Wisconsin. They resided in Minneapolis and also at their lake home on Little Birch Lake. She enjoyed spending her winters in Arizona, Idaho, and Texas. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle and the Christian Mothers.

Magdalene is survived by and will be missed by her children, John (Bette) Javes of Grey Eagle and Linda (David) Fleck of Sauk Rapids; grandchildren, Lawrence John (Juli) Javes of Little Canada, Kimberly Liebelt of Fridley, Jeffrey (Lauri) Javes of Columbia Heights, Timothy (Colleen) Javes of Ostego, and Jennifer Fleck of Sauk Rapids;11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Genny (Don) Henry of Wickenburg, Arizona; special friend, Roger Potvin of Minneapolis; and many loving relatives and friends.

Magdalene was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Javes on June 27, 1998; parents; seven brothers and five sisters.

Serving as casket bearers will be Lawrence Javes, Jeffrey Javes, Timothy Javes, Ronald Javes, Nick Liebelt, and Duane Szczech. Cross bearer will be Alicia Javes and scripture bearer will be Rebecca Liebelt.

The family wishes to extend gratitude to the staff at Good Shepherd Memory Cottages for caring for our mother this past year.
