Magdalen A. "Maggie" Wielenberg, age 59 of Burtrum, died after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at the Melrose Area Hospital in Melrose, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 3 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle with Rev. Mark Willenbring officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. Parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Friday eveing at the church in Grey Eagle.

Magdalen Agnes Stadtherr was born April 19, 1950 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Alois and Johanna (Trobec) Stadtherr. She graduated from Cathedral High School in St. Cloud. On May 26, 1974 she was united in marriage to Joseph Wielenberg Jr. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. After their marriage, they lived on a turkey farm in Melrose. They lived in surrounding communities in the area including Eagle Bend, Sauk Centre, and finally to their current residence in Burtrum. Maggie worked at the Jennie - O Turkey Store in Melrose for ten years and most recently at D.R.S. Acquisitions for ten years as well.Maggie enjoyed reading mystery books and shopping. She loved visiting with her family and friends, and especially loved spending time with her grandsons.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph "Joe" Wielenberg Jr. of Burtrum; son, David (Jeannette) Wielenberg of Bemidji; two grandsons, Samuel and Matthew, both at home; sister, Mary Ann (James) Egerman of Kimball; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, Alois and Johanna (Trobec) Stadtherr.

Serving as casket bearers will be James Wielenberg, Kenneth Wielenberg, John Johnson, Daniel Egerman, Michael Wielenberg, and Gerald Holdvogt. Cross bearer will be Pearl Casperson and scripture bearer will be Jeannette Wielenberg.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
