Madonna Angulski

Madonna M. Angulski, age 61, of Brooklyn Center and formerly of Melrose, passed away from a long courageous battle with COPD at her home in Brooklyn Center on Friday, December 3, 2010 surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 7 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Ken Thielman officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Monday evening.

Madonna Marie Laumeyer was born April 8, 1949 in Richmond, Minnesota to Benedict and Marcella (Doll) Laumeyer. She grew up and attended schools in Melrose. She was united in marriage to Dan Angulski on September 13, 1969 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. The couple lived in the Brooklyn Park area. They had four children and later divorced. She recently resided at the Crossings Apartments in Brooklyn Center. Madonna loved spending time with her significant other, Norbert, her children, granddaughters, family and friends. She loved being outdoors and took pride in her flower gardens, doing puzzles, playing cards and fancy needle work.

She was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Crystal.

Survivors include her children, Darren, Deanna (Jared) and Denise; granddaughters, Sophia, Scarlet and Madison all of Minneapolis; brother, Fran Laumeyer of Melrose; sisters, Gloria (Lambert) Scherping, Carol Deters and Betty Rahn all of Little Falls, Rose (Don) Lemley of Sauk Centre; significant other, Norbert Mitchell of Brooklyn Center; lifelong companion, Dan Angulski of Crystal; many nephews, nieces and friends.

Madonna was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Elizabeth; parents; brothers, Roman, Gerald and Elmer; sister, Verla; and niece, Lori Laumeyer. Her laughter and smile will be sadly missed by all.

Serving as casket bearers will be Jason Rahn, Justin Rahn, Kenneth Scherping, David Scherping, Rod Deters and Ryan Deters. Cross bearer will be James Scherping and scripture bearer will be Rustin Deters. Candle bearer will be Rachel Deters. Lector will be Rustin Deters. Gift bearers will be Madonna's children, Darren, Deanna and Denise.
