Mabel Trierweiler

Mabel E. Trierweiler, age 95, of Sauk Centre, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Marty Porter.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre.

Mabel Emma Quistorff was born February 5, 1921 in West Union, Minnesota to Emil and Clara (Glockzin) Quistorff. She was united in marriage to George M. Trierweiler on February 14, 1939 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Mabel worked at Ben Franklin Dime Store, Nelson's Bakery, the Red Owl for 25 years, which later became Jack and Jill, and then Schaefer's Country Market until retiring at age 87.

Mabel was good at gardening, sewing, embroidering, crocheting, and baking. She enjoyed fishing and spending time at the lake. Mabel also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Christmas was her favorite time of the year.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, the funeral committee, and a Sunday school teacher. She was very devoted to her church and faith.

Survivors include her children, Mary Jean (Darrell) Skarphol of Green Bay, WI, Barbara Rademacher of Broomfield, CO, and George (Shirley) Trierweiler of Sauk Centre; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Orville Quistorff of Osakis and John Quistorff of Sauk Centre; and many nieces and nephews.

Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Trierweiler on December 18, 1985; parents, Emil and Clara; son-in-law, Junior Rademacher; grandson, George "Georgie" Trierweiler; brothers and sister, Albert (Bernice) Quistorff, Arnold (Lois) Quistorff, and Marcella (Walter) Gettle; and sisters-in-law, Audrey Quistorff and Thelma Quistorff.

Serving as urn bearers will be Mary Jean Skarphol and Barbara Rademacher.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the elevator fund at Zion Lutheran Church.
