Lynell Elsie “Lynn” Borgerding, age 65 of Freeport, passed away suddenly of a stroke on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 18 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Melrose with Rev. David Mommens officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Melrose.
Lynell Elsie Krueger was born February 5, 1954 in New Ulm, Minnesota to Arnold and Marguerite (Bielke) Krueger. She was united in marriage to James “Jim” Borgerding on June 24, 1978 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Gaylord, Minnesota. Lynn loved being a daycare provider for 39 years, and took pride in the second-generation families she provided daycare for. She also worked at Michael’s crafts in St. Cloud for 10 years as a cake decorating instructor.
She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Melrose. Lynn enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, crocheting and embroidery, and playing cards and games. First and foremost, she loved spending time with her family, friends, and all the kids in her life.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Borgerding of Freeport; children, Justin (Amy) Borgerding of Melrose, John (Kelly) Borgerding of Big Lake, and Joshua (Jeanna) Borgerding of St. Cloud; seven grandchildren, Raya, Reese, Jett, Geordon, Chase, Cyrus, and Vivian; sisters, Doreen (Lee) Claseman of Monticello and Arlette (Maynard) Rolfes of Monticello; and brother, Allen (Julie) Krueger of Winthrop.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents; and grandmother, Elsie Bielke.
Serving as casket bearers will be Justin Borgerding, John Borgerding, Joshua Borgerding, Lee Claseman, Allen Krueger, and Maynard Rolfes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
