Lyle Fredrick Solsrud, age 71, of Lake Henry died Thursday, July 1, 2004 at the Melrose Area Hospital.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home Chapel in Melrose. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Melrose, with military honors by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Lyle Solsrud was born in San Benito, Texas to Oliver and Edna (Witt) Solsrud. He spent his childhood in Rochester, Minnesota. Lyle served in the U.S. Navy. In 1961 he and Eugenia (Jean) Thull were married. He was employed by Brillion Iron Works of Chilton Wisconsin, and other companies as a salesman. He moved to Minnesota in 1972 where he sold Moorman's Feed for a number of years. Lyle enjoyed woodworking and carpentry, fishing, and traveling.

He is survived by his children, David Solsrud (Deb) and their children, Emma and Connor of Willmar, Robert Solsrud (Shirley) and their children, Malone and Maxine of Lake Henry, and Paul Solsrud of Freeport; and sister, Carma Tucker of Sycamore, Illinois.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Richard Solsrud.

Casket bearers will be David and Deb Solsrud, Robert and Shirley Solsrud, and Paul Solsrud. Cross bearer will be his grandson, Malone Solsrud.
