Luella T. "Lou" Kennedy, age 92 of Sauk Centre died Saturday, November 5, 2005 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 9 at First United Church of Christ in Sauk Centre with Rev. James Clausen officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Church of Christ in Sauk Centre.
Luella Kennedy was born July 21, 1913 in Barnesville, Minnesota to Ole and Elisa (Rees) Halvorson. She grew up on a farm south of Sauk Centre. She married Martin W. Kennedy on December 12, 1941 in Sauk Centre. The couple lived on a farm northwest of Sauk Centre. They retired from farming in 1967 and moved to town in Sauk Centre. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ and an active member in the church's women's fellowship organizations. Lou enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking.
She is survived by her son, Tom Kennedy and his wife, Helen of North Port, FL; daughter-in-law, Ione Halverson of Alexandria; three grandchildren, June Anderson of Seattle, WA, Steve Kennedy and his wife, Wendy of Milwaukee, WI and Christine Blonski and her husband, Michael of Milwaukee, WI; four great grandchildren, Thomas, Michael and Ryan Kennedy and Joanna Blonski.
Lou was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin on May 30, 1997, son Jack Halverson; and brothers, Oris and Al Halverson.
Serving as casket bearers will be LeRoy Sukke, Don Veeder, Vernon Dirkes, Norman Sukke, Larry Trierweiler and Wally Walther.
