Ludwig W. "Louie"Weber, age 91 of Park Rapids, formerly of Sauk Centre, died Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the Heritage Cottage in Park Rapids, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. James Statz officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery with military honor provided by the Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Ludwig W. "Louie"Weber was born on May 9, 1920 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Leo and Mary (Tillman) Weber. Louie served in the US Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Louie married Laura Schubert on November 6, 1943 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. For many years, he worked as a mechanic at Walker Chevrolet in Sauk Centre before moving to Sauk City, Wisconsin where he was a heavy equipment operator. Louie later became a police officer and was the Chief of Police for The City of Lake Park, Minnesota. Louie's first wife Laura died on February 5, 1988. After the death of Louie
s first wife Laura on February 5, 1988, Louie moved back to Sauk City, Wisconsin where he married Iola Kamrath on October 29, 1989.

Louie was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853.

Louie is survived by his sisters, Lucille Egan of Sauk Centre and Julianna (Al) Trisko of Sauk Centre, 2 step-grandchildren , many great step- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Louie was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Laura Schubert on February 5, 1988; second wife, Iola Kamrath on October 31, 2008; brothers and sisters, Emma Eckberg, Mary Barhorst, Julian Weber, Arthur Weber, Leona Pfeffer and an infant sister.Serving as casket bearers will be Bill Eckberg, Larry Trisko, John Egan, Jim Weber, Dan Stepan and David Weber.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
