Louise C. Spehn, age 93 of Melrose, formerly of Sauk Centre, died on Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 11 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. followed by Christian Mothers at 7 p.m.

Louise Spehn was born on June 17, 1910 in Melrose, Minnesota to Bernard and Mary (Klein) Kramer. She was united in marriage to Roman P. Spehn on
November 8, 1933 in Melrose. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.

Survivors include her son, Donald Spehn and his wife, Janice of Sauk Centre; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Veronica Wolf of Melrose, A.J. "Bud" Kramer of Melrose, Ted Kramer of Melrose, and Connie Kampsen and her husband, Ron of St. Paul. She was also survived by her loving caregiver, Donna Frank and family.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Mary Kramer; husband, Roman Spehn in November of 1995; brothers and sisters, Henry Kramer, Alma Kramer, Rose Illies, Marie Parish, Ann Uhlenkamp, Leo Kramer, Ray Kramer, Alvina Spaeth, and infant, Helen Kramer.

Serving as casket bearers will be Steve, Jeff, Scott, Roman and Eric Spehn and Andy Johnson. Cross bearer will be Julie Spehn and scripture bearer will be Stacy Hutchinson. Honorary bearers will be Christian Mothers.
