Louise C. Minette, age 88 of Sauk Centre, died Monday, November 28, 2011 at her home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 2 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Tim Wenzel officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 5:15 p.m. Thursday evening.
Louise Catherine VanHeel was born May 14, 1923 in Freeport, Minnesota to Frank and Agnes (Notch) VanHeel. She graduated from Melrose High School and went on to attend St. Cloud Business College. After college, Louise worked at First State Bank in Sauk Centre. On October 12, 1948 she was united in marriage to Alison "Al" Minette at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport, Minnesota. The couple farmed outside of Sauk Centre until they retired and moved into town in 2002. Louise enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, baking, playing cards, and especially spending time with family.
Louise was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, St. Margaret's Mission , and the Sauk Centre Seniors.
Louise is survived by her children, Bill (Janet) Minette of Sauk Centre, Tom (Janice) Minette of Sauk Centre, Barbara (Dave) Bodeker of Sauk Centre, Rick (Pat) Minette of New Prague, Christine (Steve) Scepaniak of Waite Park, Mary (Jim) Metcalf of Sauk Centre, and Carla (Tom) Moritz of Spicer; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two on the way; sisters, Leona Schloegl, Marion Huschle, Lorraine Bierschbach, and Bernie Roering; and brothers, Art (Dorthy) VanHeel, Fran VanHeel, Bob (Jan) VanHeel, and Virg (Joann) VanHeel.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Al Minette on June 15, 2010; daughter, Kathy Minette on May 28, 1968; parents; sister, Val Schrantz; and brother, Elmer VanHeel.
Serving as casket bearers will be her grandsons, Chad Minette, Matt Minette, Adam Minette, Mike Minette, Alex Minette, Tyler Scepaniak, Travis Scepaniak, Josh Metcalf, and Jacob Moritz. Cross bearer will be Kate Koopmeiners and scripture bearer will be Meghan Metcalf.
Memorials are preferred.
