Louise A. Bromen, age 89, of Sauk Centre, died on Monday, May 9, 2011 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 13 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. James Statz officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and 1 hour prior to the funeral on Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Louise Anna Zirbes was born September 17, 1921 in Melrose Township to Joseph and Clara (Petermeier) Zirbes. Louise grew up on a farm outside of Sauk Centre and graduated from St. Paul's School. She worked at Mary Ann's Dress Shop. She married Othmar "Oscar" Bromen on July 4, 1945. Louise was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Louise was an accomplished seamstress and she enjoyed quilting, bowling, playing cards and tri-ominos. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband Othmar "Oscar" of Sauk Centre; children, Paul (Clara) Bromen of Waconia, Mary Kay Coalwell of Acworth, Georgia, Barbara Anton of Moorhead, Patricia (Wayne) Whittenbaugh of Dubuque, Iowa, Phillip (Bonnie) Bromen of Alexandria, Perry (Shawn) Bromen of Dubuque, Iowa, David (Margie) Bromen of Dawson, Nebraska, Cheryl (David) Lee of Reno, Nevada; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Sr. Mary Zirbes of St. Cloud.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fr. Ervin Zirbes, Hubert Zirbes, Alcuin Zirbes; and sister, Mary Jane Porwall.
