[b]Louis N. Roisum, age 83 of Sauk Centre, formerly of Pillager, died with his beloved wife at his side on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 10 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Becky Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 12 to 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre.

Louis Roisum was born on June 12, 1923 in Benson, Minnesota to Jens and Minnie (Knutsun) Roisum. He attended country school near Benson. Louis worked as a farmer until he joined the Army in October of 1949 where he served as an M.P. until 1951. He then became a truck driver and delivered hay and straw all across the Midwest. In the late 80's, Louis retired from trucking and became an apartment building caretaker. On June 14, 2006 he was united in marriage to Alice Raaum Chermak at the First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Louis enjoyed gardening and fishing. He attended First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Roisum of Sauk Centre; step-children, James Halvorson of Regal, Victoria Bjorklund of Willmar, Charles Bjorklund of Melrose, Velma Bjorklund of Montevideo and Michael Bjorklund of Morris; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lynn Roisum, Rose (Wallace) Halls, Arlene (Lenard) Elgin, Adaline (Marvin) Halls, Doris Noyce, Betty (Bill) Olson, and Ruth Wenth; and many nieces and nephews.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe and Marvin Roisum.Serving as casket bearers will be Anthony Lucente, Andson Criggs, Wallace Halls, Richard Paulson, Lenord Elgin, Ralph Bullick.

Serving as honorary bearers are Charles Bjorklund, Marvin Halls, Wilbur Olson, Albert Christianson and Vern Lannes.[/b]
