Lorraine L. Schlicht, age 97 of Melrose, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose with Deacon Ernie Kociemba officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Melrose.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Lorraine Louise Claseman was born April 11, 1915 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Ben and Louise (Loerke) Claseman. On October 18, 1937 she married Hugo "Max" Schlicht. Lorraine was a lifelong resident of Melrose who spent her life as a homemaker. Being a homemaker, Lorraine did lots of sewing and embroidery work, and spent a lot of time baking cookies. She enjoyed playing BINGO, cards, watching the Minnesota Twins and loved being a grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter, Lou Middendorf of Melrose; grandchildren, Deb (Keith) Miner of Circle Pines, Terry Middendorf of Rosemount, and Sheila (Robin) Handy of Medina; and great-grandchildren, Kelly Miner, Samantha Miner, Brooke Middendorf, and Nicole Middendorf.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Hugo "Max" Schlicht; parents; brothers, Walter Claseman, Harold Claseman, and Eddie Claseman; and sisters, Alva Rohe, Nellie Zitur, and Doris Johnson.
Serving as casket bearers will be her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.
