Lorraine A. Juelke, age 84 of Sauk Centre, died surrounded by her children after a short battle with cancer Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 25 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Kevin Born will officiate with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Lorraine Juelke was born October 6, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois to Walter and Lillian (Abraham) Bollbach. She was a 1936 graduate of Hollywood High School. On June 14, 1947 she married Allan O. Juelke in Hollywood, California. The couple resided in Delano, Minnesota from 1947 to 1955. Since 1956 they had resided in Sauk Centre.In addition to being a wife and homemaker, Lorraine had been employed by Dr. David Vandesteeg, Anderson Florist and Main Street Theater. She had many hobbies and interests, especially painting. She loved anything that involved her family.She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Order of the Eastern Star and American Legion Post 67 Auxiliary.
Survivors include three children, Janice Hester of El Centro, California, James (Jami) Juelke of Sauk Centre, and John (Merilyn) Juelke of Sauk Centre; 12 grandchildren, Kimberly Hester-Wake, Matthew Hester, Melissa Spieler, Nathan Hester, Jennifer Hester-Maddy, Christopher Hester, Greg Juelke, Justin Juelke, Sheyanne Juelke, Jessica (Juelke) Parker, Erin Juelke, and Alyssa Juelke; 12 great-grandchildren, Drew Hester, Lacey, Ashlyn and Abigail Hester, Sahara and James Spieler, Mya Hester, Raya Juelke, Ethan and Mylie Parker, Cole Roering, and Kiera Juelke; brother, Douglas (Donna) Bollback of Bullhead City, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allan O. Juelke on May 30, 1999; grandson, Jesse Bo Juelke; and great-grandson, Aaron Juelke.
Serving as casket bearers will be Greg, Justin, Sheyanne Juelke, Jessica (Juelke) Parker, Erin, and Alyssa Juelke, and Jennifer Hester-Maddy. Honorary bearers will be Bill and Arlene Haroldson, Bruce and Diane Halverson, Millie Blank, Gary and Linda Graham, Helen Jorgenson, Phil DuBois, Brian Olson, and Spencer Tengwall.
