Lorraine M. Flowers, age 88 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Ecumen-Bethany Home in Alexandria, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Ken Riedemann officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 12 p.m. Wednesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m. followed by the Christian Mothers at 6 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Lorraine Mary Rousslang was born July 4, 1924 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Hubert and Katherine (Essler) Rousslang. She was united in marriage to Howard Flowers on April 28, 1947 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Her joy in life was taking care of her family. Lorraine has resided at Lakeshore Estates in Sauk Centre for the last two years. She enjoyed embroidering, playing cards, word search puzzles, BINGO and most of all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lorraine was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and the Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her children, Judy (Kevin) Powers of Alexandria, MaryLou (Dan) Keating of Mayville, ND and Jim (Kristy) Flowers of Sauk Centre; eight grandchildren, Chris Powers, Katie Powers, Craig Keating, Mike (Tonya) Keating, Jason (Amanda) Keating, Jenny Keating, Max Flowers and AJ Flowers; two great-grandchildren, Evelyn Keating and Conner Powers; and brother, Lawrence Rousslange of Sauk Centre.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Flowers on November 18, 2008; son, Eugene Flowers on December 24, 1948; brothers, Aloysius "Jack" and Anthony Rousslang; sister, Irene Bieringer; sisters-in-law, Sally, Francella and Helen Rousslange; and brother-in-law, Edward Bieringer.
Serving as casket bearers will be her grandchildren, Chris Powers, Katie Powers, Craig Keating, Mike Keating, Jason Keating, Jenny Keating, Max Flowers and AJ Flowers. Cross bearer will be Evelyn Keating and scripture bearer will be Conner Powers. Honorary bearers will be her friends at Lakeshore Estates.
