Loretta M. Bierschbach, age 90, of Sauk Centre died suddenly Friday, December 24, 2004 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre, with the Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 5:15 p.m. followed by Christian Mothers at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Sauk Centre.
Loretta Bierschbach was born January 30, 1914 in Sauk Centre to Joseph and Margaret (Minette) Mickels. She married Math Bierschbach on September 16, 1948 in Sauk Centre. She and Math farmed in rural Sauk Centre where they raised their six children. After retiring, Loretta and Math moved to town, where she resided for the past 27 years. Loretta loved taking care of her dog, Tinker, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and watching sports. She also collected porcelain dolls and salt and pepper shakers. Loretta was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her children, Mary Ann (Danny) Pung of Spring Hill, Rose (Carl) Johnson of Sarasota, FL, Betty (Ken) Walz of Avon, Don (June) Bierschbach of Avon, Bernice (John) Egan of Sauk Centre and Marlene Hoeschen of Sauk Centre; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret Mickels; husband, Math Bierschbach on September 19, 1981; son-in-law, Whitey Hoeschen; brother, John Mickels.
Casket bearers will be Steve Pung, Brian Pung, Beau Bierschbach, Brent Egan, Matt Hoeschen, and Ken Mayer. Cross bearer will be Michelle Widman and scripture bearer will be Melissa Kotzer.
