Lois grew up on her parent's family farm and went to three years of high school at West Central School of Agriculture in Morris, Minnesota. After graduation she went to work, including Northwestern Bell as a telephone operator, in Sauk Centre for a number of years. She lived on the farm with her family for 50 years, over 20 of those years enjoying time at their summer cabin on Lake Osakis. After retirement, Lois and Paul moved to Sauk Centre, where they owned an antique store for many years. She and Paul wintered as snow birds in Mesa, Arizona for over 20 years up until recent years.
Lois was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. She loved her family and always was part of their life happenings. She also had close friends whom she and Paul visited for many years.
